ALAN RICKMAN: el villano perfecto...

El prestigioso actor británico Alan Rickman ha muerto en Londres a los sesenta y nueve años de edad víctima del cáncer.

Su talento se forjó sobre los escenarios de teatro, a los que regresó durante toda su carrera, pero participó en infinidad de películas entre las que cabe destacar: "Jungla de cristal" (1.988), "Robin Hood, príncipe de los ladrones" (1.991), "Sentido y sensibilidad" (1.995), "Love Actually" (2.003), "Sweeney Tood: el barbero diabólico de la calle Fleet" (2.007) o la saga completa de Harry Potter (2.001-2.011).

Su desafiante mirada y su imponente presencia hacían de él el villano perfecto...

"El talento es un accidente genético y una responsabilidad"

Daniel Radcliffe tenía solo doce años cuando se estrenó "Harry Potter y la piedra filosofal", la primera película de la exitosa saga protagonizada por el joven mago. Su experiencia profesional era casi nula, pero Alan Rickman lo trató como a un igual. Ésta es la emotiva carta que el actor ha dedicado al que fuera su maestro tras conocer la noticia de su muerte:

Alan Rickman is undoubtedly one of the greatest actors I will ever work with. He is also, one of the loyalest and most supportive people I've ever met in the film industry. He was so encouraging of me both on set and in the years post-Potter. I'm pretty sure he came and saw everything I ever did on stage both in London  and New York. He didn't have to do that. I know other people who've been friends with him for much longer than I have and they all say "if you call Alan, it doesn't matter where in the world he is or how busy he is with what he's doing, he'll get back to you within a day".

People create perceptions of actors based on the parts they played so it might surprise some people to learn that contrary to some of the sterner (or downright scary) characters he played, Alan was extremely kind, self-deprecating and funny. And certain things obviously became even funnier when delivered in his unmistakable double-bass.

As an actor he was one of the first of the adults on Potter to treat me like a peer rather than a child. Working with him at such a formative age was incredibly important and I will carry the lessons he taught me for the rest of my life and career. Film sets and theatre stages are all far poorer for the loss of this great actor and man.

También la escritora J. K. Rowling (autora de la saga) y los actores Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) y Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) han lamentado el fallecimiento del actor y le han dedicado algunas palabras en las redes sociales:

There are no words to express how shocked and devastated I am to hear of Alan Rickman's death. He was a magnificent actor and a wonderful man. My thoughts are with Rima and the rest of his Alan's family. We have all lost a great talent. They have lost part of their hearts.

Me apetecía empezar el año disfrutando de una película romántica de ambiente navideño...

"Siempre que me siento pesimista por  como está el mundo pienso en la puerta de llegadas del aeropuerto de Heathrow. La opinión general da a entender que vivimos en un mundo de odio y egoísmo pero yo no lo entiendo así. A mí me parece que a menudo no es especialmente decoroso ni tiene interés periodístico pero siempre está ahí: padres e hijos, madres e hijas, maridos y esposas, novios, novias, viejos amigos... Si lo buscamos descubrimos que en realidad el amor está en todas partes."

En las navidades de 2.003 el director de cine Richard Curtis reunió en la capital del pequeño país que vio nacer a William Shakespeare, Winston Churchill, los Beatles, Sean Connery, Harry Potter o al pie derecho de David Beckam a un amplio puñado de actores para que sus vidas y la mía se fundiesen y cocinar durante cinco semanas un puñado de historias de amor aderezadas con una fantástica banda sonora.

Fue hace algo más de dos años, siete meses, tres días, una hora y treinta minutos: me enamoré sin remedio...

Estaba jodido pero ella era la única para mí. Perdí el apetito, aprendí a tocar la batería y me enamoré como un niño...

La vida está llena de interrupciones y complicaciones. Tardó en fijarse en mí pero las parejas sólo se encuentran al final. Me costó poder decirle lo mucho que la quiero pero las películas no se acaban hasta que sale la palabra 'fin' y ahora se lo digo todos los días...
